Things Don't Got To Plan For Dominic Usher at Knockhill

Knockhill didn’t quite go to plan for Beverley racer Dominic Usher who was running in a strong position until he lost the front at turn seven at the midway stage of the 24 lap Superstock 1000 race on Sunday.

After completing the first qualifying session in ninth place the second session on Saturday had to be cancelled because overnight torrential rain had damaged the track, and it was some time before it was fit to race on. Race control declared the grid positions on the first qualifying results meaning that Dominic was to start his race from a third-row grid position.

As the 24 lap race got underway Dominic didn’t get the best of starts but powered the DU Racing BMW through to take up 13th place on the first lap. He made steady progress through to 10th position on lap nine but at the midway stage of the race, he lost the front at Clark’s and crashed, his race over.

Dominic said:

“It is a disappointing end to the weekend for me. I have struggled all weekend with set up and it didn’t help my cause when the second qualifying was cancelled session due to the weather which lost me a lot of valuable track time.”

“I am gutted to be honest as I was hoping for a good result from one of my favourite circuits, especially after such a good one there last year. I just want to say thanks to all the usual suspects and sponsors for all their effort and support: Fiona Padgett, Clive Padgett, Keith Attwood, Lyndsey Woodrow, Graham Monkman, Hayley Taylor, Richard Sangwin and of course my old man!”

“There are plenty of races lefty or me to make amends.”
