This weekend people will have the chance to turn back the clocks and a bop the night away all in aid of a good cause.

On Saturday 14th March DJ Simon Burns and DJ Tom Guthrie will be taking to the decks as they headline a night of 80s at , Beverley.

Speaking to HU17.net Simon said;

“People who remember the Regal Night Club in Beverley will know all about Bop Shop Friday and Totally Commercial Strictly Up Front Soul. This is the theme we will be following on Saturday evening.”

“It also quite exciting for me as Tom was just a small boy when I was DJ at his father’s club so on Saturday, we will set up a couple of rigs and work together.”

“We will also throw some Chicago House and Hip Hop into our sets, and if we get the feeling from the crowd they are up for it Tom will play some more up-to-date stuff.”

Organised by local Pam Lockyer the event has been set up to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting young people with cancer.

With around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK events like this are vital to in raising funds so the charity can provide the expert treatment and support from the moment, they hear the word ‘cancer.’

Tickets for the night cost just £5 with the price, including nibbles. It all starts at 8.30pm with the disco running until 1am.

On the night, there will also be a prize draw with some fantastic things to be won. While not compulsory Pam says people are very welcome to dust off their old clothes and get dressed up for this journey back to the 80s.
