East Riding Residents Urged To Register To Vote

Polling Station Beverley

With the elections less than 100 days away, residents across the East Riding are being reminded they need to register in order to vote.

On Thursday, 7 May, voters will go to the polls to elect their Member of Parliament while local elections are also taking place on the same day.

Over the next month, East Riding of Yorkshire Council will be sending letters to every household giving details of who is currently on the electoral register for that property.

Anyone who is eligible to vote is urged to make sure they are registered so they can have their say on issues that affect their lives.

If someone’s name is not on the letter and they are eligible to vote, they can register online by going to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

Residents can also request a paper copy of registration form by contacting the electoral registration office at East Riding of Yorkshire Council on (01482) 393311; (01482) 393322 or (01482) 393313.
