Beavers Head To Huddersfield For Final Away Day of 2014

Beverley are on the road this week for the last time this year with a relatively short trip to YMCA who were one of the promoted teams last year from North East 2.

The Beavers came unstuck last week against Cleckheaton after a promising come back against Rossendale the week before, there was confidence that they could claim their second win of the season but that was not too be. Cleckheaton’s pack confidently subdued Beverley’s smaller pack and their backs blew numerous chances with poor decision making. Director of Rugby Junior Tupai explained;

“Last Saturday was pretty disappointing to say the least. Leading at 8-3, we should’ve been confident of finishing well like we have been in recent weeks but we just didn’t front up in the second half.”

“Taking nothing away from Cleckheaton, they played to their strengths and hid the ball up their jumpers. We struggled to match that, but we get a chance this week to rectify those things.”

Beverley welcomed back the experience of , and Antony Maka last week but they were unable to stem the flow as Beverley slumped to their eighth consecutive loss. Tupai continued;

“We are so close, but this league is tough. There are no mugs in this league and we are having to scrap for every point that’s on offer.”

“We will be picking a strong team again this week with some players available that will offset the unavailability’s of Worrall and Jelencic. This is a must win game for us and we need to “park” what happened last week and move forward quickly to get our second win.”

Beverley will select from; A Ogilvie, A McPeake, K Renners, J Fell, M Adams, D Brant, G Sayer, R Powell, J Bunn, A Maka, D Hodgson, L Starbuck, I Archibald, P Duboulay, J Tupai, M Harling, R Bussey, A Smith, P Wood, M Kilgannon, I Morrison
