Defensive Errors Cost Town At Norwood

manager Ed Grady says an Arthur McHale mistake cost them the game as Town threw away the lead and were beaten at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Gilberdyke found themselves behind mid-way through the first half when Town’s Alex Start finished a smart counter attack by the home side.

Grady, speaking after the match told HU17.net;

“Alex had a good game up front. He was worth his goal, sadly we will be without him for the next three weeks as he has other matters to deal with in Thailand.”

Town, however, committed suicide at the back when a mix up between McHale and let in Gilberdyke to level scores.

Grady said;

“McHale looked dead on his feet in the build up to their goal, he and Norton know they should have done better and cleared the ball.”

Despite being critical of his player Grady backed his player to return to form, he said;

“He is a key player in the dressing room, all the lads love him, he is the one player you can guarantee will turn up well groomed and ready to play, this was just bad moment for him, and us.”

As the game looked as though it would end with honours even Grady was dealt an arrow through the heart as the visitors stole all three points with a late 40-yard wonder goal.

“A draw would have been a fair result today, after we took the lead things seemed to be going well for us.”

Next weekend, Grady and his side make the very short journey to as they play local rival the .
When asked about the match, Grady replied;

“We will be ready, what we have is bouncebackability, as a team we will continue to do our talking on the pitch.”
