Town Full Of Confidence Ahead Of Clash With Westella

Beverley Town make the short trip to Hill Top in Cottingham tonight as they take on in the Humber Premier League.

Fresh off the back Saturday’s of their win against leaders , Town boss Dave Ricardo says his side go into the match with the bottom club full of confidence.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s game Ricardo said;

“We had fantastic result on Saturday, we were a bit nervous in the first half but were much better in the second half and got the win I think we deserved.”

“Luke Thompson showed his class scoring with a great strike. He has a reputation for being able to hit the ball and scoring those type of goals.”

West & Willerby have already faced Town twice this season losing both games to champions. In November Beverley scored ten past tonight’s opponents to progress to the last eight of the senior cup and in their last match Beverley won the game 5 -1 a match in which Rob Northen scored twice but was sent off.

Town look likely to call up who will replace Adam Nicholson who is set to sit out the game after picking up a knock in Saturday’s win.

Ricardo added;

“On paper this should not be a problem for us, but you don’t win games on paper. Tonight will give us a chance to rotate the players and give game time to some of those who missed out at the weekend.”

Beverley are on course to win their second consecutive Humber Premier League title, to be confirmed as champions all they need is 17 points from their last six games.

Title rivals Reckitts are also in action tonight, they play Sculcoates Amateurs and will be looking for maximum points to keep the pressure on Beverley in the race for the championship.

Our Verdict

This is a game you cannot see Beverley losing, this season Town have score 15 goals against Westella in their two matches this season and only conceded two and with statistics like that there can only be one winner. With it being a midweek match and after Saturday’s exploits you would expect Beverley win and just get the job done.

Score Prediction

Westella & Willerby 0 Beverley Town 3
