Dance For Diabetes With Tesco In Beverley

Locals in Beverley are being encouraged to get down to ’s Superstore on Morton Lane to take part in the biggest simultaneous ‘Cha Cha slide’ dance.

Staff and customers in Tesco stores across the UK will come together to take part in the Dance for Diabetes event on 24th and 25th January. People can learn the simple dance routine in advance through YouTube and then join staff at Tesco Beverley at 2.30pm.

Lee Latchford-Evans, Diabetes UK supporter and star of pop group Steps said: “It’s fantastic that Tesco staff and customers are moving their dancing feet and taking part in the Dance for Diabetes event.

“As a performer I know that dancing, along with other physical activity, is a great way to help keep to a healthy weight, which can in turn reduce a person’s risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. The Dance for Diabetes event in Tesco stores will be great fun and I would love people to pop down to their nearest store and join in the fun.

“The donations raised from the event will go towards the £10 million Diabetes UK and Tesco are looking to raise help support those with and at risk of diabetes.”

Alex Boak, store manager at Tesco Beverley, said: “Dance for Diabetes is an enjoyable and energetic way to raise money for our National Charity Partner, Diabetes UK. We hope customers will join us in putting on the biggest Cha Cha slide Beverley has ever seen.”
