The November meeting of the Bishop Burton Gardeners’ Club heard an excellent talk by Rose Horspool about the life and work of garden designer Gertrude Jekyll.
Rose described Miss Jekyll’s life and work in an entertaining and very interesting talk that was illustrated with magnificent pictures of Miss Jekyll’s gardens.
The Club’s next meeting is on Tuesday December 3rd at St Mary’s Parish Hall, North Bar Within in Beverley at 7.30pm will be about sweet peas.
This will be a presentation by David Matthewman from Matthewman’s Sweet Peas based near Wakefield. David’s firm have won numerous awards for their products including 13 consecutive gold medals at Chelsea Flower Show.
Membership of the club is £15 per year or non-members are welcome to attend for £4 entry fee. Refreshments are served after the meeting.
