Beverley Town Cricket Club 2nd XI lost to Heworth in the York Senior League Division 1 at a sun kissed Norwood Recreation Ground.
Town were only able to post 168 for 8 in their 48 overs as Phil DuBoulay (40), Jonny Vodden (30) and Alan Acklam (36 no) helped them recover from 5 for 2.
Matt Smith (20) and Pete Parnaby (12) scored useful runs at the end of the innings.
Kieran Thompson (2-39) and Guy Brumfield (1-27) spearheaded the Town attack and Pete Parnaby (2-35) bowled well but Heworth reached 173 for 6 with 8 balls to spare.
