Last month the Beverley Lions were awarded £250 as winners of the Beverley Building Society Charity of the Month competition.
Geoff Rawson and Les Ford from the Beverley Lions came to the Society and were presented with the cheque for £250 by Mortgage Manager, Annette Wright.
Since starting in January, the Charity of the Month Campaign has been a huge success raising a total of £2250 for local causes.
The Beverley has had a strong bond with the local community for over one hundred years and plans to develop it further by continuing to take an active part.
Peter Myers, Chief Executive of Beverley Building Society said:
“At the Beverley Building Society we strive to achieve a family ethos, with close relationships between staff, members and the local community. As East Yorkshire’s only independent Building Society, we do not have to pay dividends to shareholders, instead we support local charities and community initiatives.”
