Sutton-on-Hull Cricket Club was no match for Beverley Town Cricket Club’s 3rd XI that beat them by seven wickets at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Batting first the visitors managed to score just 124 as they were bowled out in 42 overs. Kieran Thompson was the best bowler for Beverley on the day as he helped himself to three wickets.
Beverley reached the target for the loss of just three wickets; a fine innings from Robert Fish saw the opener score 46 while Matthew Fitzpatrick top scored for the home side with an unbeaten 57.
Despite the win Beverley’s 3rds missed out on the East Yorkshire Cricket Alliance title by three points as the curtain came down on another year of cricket at Norwood.
