Display On Prominent Humber Family At The Beverley Treasure House

Another mini-display by a local independent museum opens at the Treasure House, in , on Thursday, 2 August.

The display, in the café case on the first floor, focuses on Epworth Old Rectory, North Lincolnshire, home of the Wesley family during the 18th Century, including John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement.

The centre piece of the display, which runs until Friday, 28 September, is a rare historical book “Contemplations on the of the New Testament” (1661) which bears the signatures of several members of the Wesley family. The book was recently restored in a painstaking conservation process aided by a grant from the Museum Development Fund.

The rectory, which lies 16 miles east of Doncaster, is open to visitors from March to October.
