Summer Heads To Beverley With A Party Night And The Faerie

One of the most popular Celtic party bands will be heading to Beverley Festival on Saturday 16th June to celebrate in the Mid-Summer Party and Dance .

The Peatbog Faeries, quoted as being “the future of Celtic dance music” will be making a popular return to the festival to give festival goers something to celebrate.

Nominated by Radio 2 as the “Best Live Act” in this year’s folk awards, and a regular headline act at Edinburgh’s prestigious Hogmanay celebrations, they incorporate many influences which take them from traditional jigs and reels through jazz, hip hop, reggae and more. This is high octane Celtic dance music so be prepared to dance!

“Nothing in the recognisable front line of bagpipes, fiddles, synthesiser, bass and rhythm guitar, with a straight drum kit at the back, prepares you for the high octane music of the Peatbog Faeries! Powerful melodies are dextrously pumped out with a smart degree of techno attitude, while cross-rhythms ricochet over a heavy bass that hits you forcefully like a massive heart beat. The Scotsman

Travelling all the way from Denmark for the evening will be Denmark’s leading young band Habadekuk, winners of the Radio Denmark’s Best Band in 2011. Likened to a cross between top folk bands and La Bottine Souriante from Québec, this band will be the perfect warm up for the party night.

A wide range of and activities for those attending the event, with a special emphasis on families and children, and young audiences, makes the event a perfect weekend for all.
