Salon Prepares To Mark 10 Years In Business

‘Body Matters’ Beauty Salon on Well Lane in Beverley is to Celebrate its 10 year Anniversary!

Local business woman Zoe Hewitt first opened the Salon’s doors in 2002. After gaining a BTEC National Diploma in at Beverley College she worked at a Beauty Salon in Hull and then progressed to be the manageress for a total of 4 years.

Zoe set out with the aim to open a beauty salon in Beverley that provided a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in which to provide with consistent expertise, delivered to a high standard. Above everything maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction throughout was always going to be key to the success of the business.

As well as being awarded Health & Safety recognition in 2008, (sustained on a yearly basis by the team ever since), Zoe was nominated in 2003 for young business woman of the year. This is an accolade she is quite rightly proud of!

The addition of good quality, well trained staff to the salon has proved invaluable to Zoe. The team now consists of Beauty therapists Sharon Harrison and Pam Clipson. Sharon Harrison, who joined Zoe not long after she launched her business, specialises in nail care and Pam Clipson, who joined in April last year, specialises in facials and massage treatments. The salon has also Beverley Love and Linda Hewitt who work as Receptionists and Mary Scattergood as Accounts & Receptionist.

Joining the business is Keri Jones who has 25 years’ experience as a hair stylist. Keri has built up a solid reputation and client base for cuts, colours and re-styles for both men and women with people travelling from as far as York to visit. Keri uses highly rated products including Wella and L’oreal for colours and TIGI for styling; she constantly strives to keep up with new methods, and styles.

One of her many strengths, is the ability to advise clients on new styles which may mean taking them out of their comfort zone but in doing so creates a new image giving new confidence!

Keri said “I’m very happy to have joined ‘Body Matters’ under the name of ‘MINK’, working alongside Zoe and the team will mean that clients can come to us for a full body experience including hair so no need to anywhere else. Congratulations to Zoe on her success!”

‘Body Matters’ provides a wide range of beauty products and treatments for both men and women including Dermalogica facials, which are tailored to each individual skin type; nail treatments for both natural nails and nail enhancements using Nailtiques, Orly, Extreme and IBD products and St Tropez tanning.

Body Matters continues to develop its range of treatments to provide something new and innovative for the people of Beverley, constantly striving to update the range of treatments to keep in line with new products and methods in the market and to accommodate both regular and new clients.
