Hodgsons FC have claimed bragging rights in Beverley with a fine 3 – 1 win of bitter local rivals Beverley Town at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
The Tanners went into the match with a make shift side that saw centre forward Adam Foster playing in central midfield role.
In scoreless first half Town had the better of few chances there were however they were unable to get that all important goal.
Hodgsons FC scored all their goals in the second half with a little hand from the Town keeper who got a hand on each of the efforts but was unable to keep the ball from crossing the line.
Daniel Atkinson who scored for the Tanners said;
“Foster took a shot that came off the bar, it fell to me and looked like it may not even cross the line till the kipper pushed it in.”
The win moves the Tanners off the foot off the table and to within just two points from safety. Next weekend the Tanners face a tough test as they hit the road to play Reckitts AFC.
