Tickton WI Highlights Need To Preserve Local Library Service

Tickton’s Women’s Institute are encouraging locals to enjoy the benefits of the village’s mobile library bus this weekend.

It’s part of the WI’s national campaign “”, which is publicising the role of local libraries and the potential loss of them if people fail to support this most important of local services.

On Saturday (4 February) members of the WI will be at the library bus from 11am until 1.30pm with banners, drinks and a friendly greeting to make people aware of the services on offer.

The library bus is parked outside the local from 10am until 3pm every Saturday and is a vital service to many people in the area.

Local organiser Suzanne Millar said: “Tickton WI was only formed in December and we’ve just had our first proper meeting – we are also using this as a publicity opportunity to gain new members.”
