Over 200 people were at Beverley Minster to see in the New Year.
Keeping with local tradition the Mayor of Beverley, Peter Astell climbed the bell tower where he read Tennyson to the Minster’s Bell Ringers. Rev Jeremy Fletcher then said prayer before the Bell Ringers crescendo of bells.
Outside in the court yard people gathered as they welcomed in 2012 in the shadow of Beverley’s most well known landmark.
