Kay West Chairman of ERYC Christmas Message

I am delighted to have this opportunity to wish everyone the compliments of the season.

As Chairman of the Council, it has been a privilege to visit many areas of the East Riding of Yorkshire and meet many people of all ages and from different walks of life. I have been overwhelmed by the commitment of so many individuals and organisations that work tirelessly to make the area in which they work and live a better place for future generations.

Christmas, whilst being a time of great joy for many, can also be a time of great sadness and hardship for others, particularly those who are lonely or have recently lost family members or close friends. I would like to wish you a future that will be happy, successful and above all peaceful. I would also like to send a special thank you to all those people who have to work over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

I am sure that most of you will be celebrating Christmas at home in the company of your family and friends but is also a time to reflect on the past and to look to the future with confidence.

I hope you have a safe and happy Christmas surrounded by kindness and warmth and that the New Year brings peace, happiness and prosperity to you all.

Councillor Kay West
Chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council
