Blue & Golds Suffer Worst Defeat Of Season

The blue and golds suffered their heaviest defeat thus far this season on their travels last Saturday.

There was no shortage of effort but they were outsmarted by their more youthful opponents as their disappointing run of results continue.

They went into the game without their talismanic number nine who was sorely missed with the side lacking organisation.

The writing was on the wall in the 10th minute as the hosts took advantage of some slipshod defence to post the opening try. Man of the match hit back with a try spotting a gap on the blind side to score too far out wide for Connolly to improve.

However the hosts then added three further tries before Watkin replied with his second try just before the interval.

The second half was one to forget for the visitors as Isberg doubled their points tally to 44 points with Beverley struggling to cope with the enterprising handling.

Despite the heavy defeat there were some plucky and determined performances. Notably Gavin Platt, Lee Stevens and were the pick of the forwards but Ryan Watkin took yet another man of the match award.

This Saturday sees Beverley at home to Bilton Sullys kicking off at 2pm at the Leisure Centre as they hope their luck will improve.

Final Score: Hull Isberg 44 8 | Reported by Nick Robinson
