Table Toppers United Cruise Past Pinefleet

continue to set the pace at the top of the table after a convincing victory against a hard working Pinfleet side at .

The Beverley side were slow to start with passes going astray against a battling Pinfleet team who had come to play football against their highflying opponents.

With Pinfleet having an equal share of possession Mill Lane United were under more pressure than they were used to and were thankful for good defending from Chloe Bell and Lucy Crockett along with a safe pair of hands from goalkeeper to keep Pinfleet out in the early exchanges.

Gradually getting into the match United  took the lead when a fine pass by Millie O’Neill released Emma Johnson down the left who in turn found fellow midfielder in space and a powerful shot from 20yards gave the keeper no chance to make it 1 0.

The opening goal spurred Mill Lane on and more goals soon followed Emma Johnson releasing Striker down the left before a pin point pass found fellow striker Jodie Brown in the penalty area and a fine finish made  it 2 0.

The third soon followed when Johnsons through ball found Forward rampaging through to score with ease.Striker Jodie Brown then became provider when a fine header from a Pinfleet goal kick found Forward in space and a clinical finish made it 4 0.

Shell shocked after conceding 4 goals in 10minutes Pinfleet rolled up their sleeves and battled for ever ball to keep Mill Lane on the back foot.

was introduced from the bench to give Mill Lane more bite in the midfield and this helped produce 3 more goals before half time the fifth an own goal after a deflected shot from the edge of the area by Emily Holliday and the next two by Millie O’Neil after two superb defence splitting passes by Emma Smith to make the score 7 0 to Mill Lane at half time.

The second half started with Pinfleet on the front foot and their efforts were rewarded with two quickfire goals the first  after a deflection and the second a fine shot over the Mill Lane keepers head to give Pinfleet some just reward that their efforts deserved.The two goals stirred Mill Lane into action and 4 more goals followed two more giving Emma Smith a fine hat-trick after fine runs from halfway and two from substitute Tonya Storr who produced her best performance of the season full of energy and desire after been dropped to the bench.

The final whistle blew giving Mill Lane 3 more points but an improvement will be needed next week for the difficult Tesco cup fixture at Malet

Lambert .Man of the match(coaches choice) this week went to Chloe Bell for a fine defensive performance and Keeley Forward (parents choice)for a great exhibition of attacking play.

A special mention also went to goalkeeper Emily Hood and substitute Tonya Storr for their best performances of the season.
