United End Tickton Play Off Hopes

Eleanor Gilbert was again stand in keeper and she was called into action early on as the Mill Lane midfield played the ball through for their onrushing forwards despite the best efforts of the usually resolute AFC Tickton defence.

The game then settled into a mainly midfield battle with few chances for either team, and at the end of the first half the scoreline remained 0- 0.

The second half started in much the same manner as the first with both teams trying to hold onto the ball but the deadlock was broken when Keeley Forward was sent through one on one with Eleanor Gilbert and she fired the ball over the AFC Tickton keeper. Within a few minutes Mill Lane doubled their lead when Forward again broke through the AFC Tickton defence to fire home.

The second goal brought AFC Tickton to life which gave opportunities for , , Lauren Stubbs and Rachel Wilson to try to put AFC Tickton on the scoresheet. Lucie Hall produced a fabulous performance in midfield for AFC Tickton but despite her sterling efforts alongside Natalie Cording and Enisha Ali the game finished 2-0 with Mill Lane the deserved winners on the day.
