Wednesday Came With a Surprise for One Young Trail Explorer!

Three-year-old HARVEY LEE had a surprise start to Wednesday, at Walkington Primary School, when he was presented with a framed family photograph which was the prize for him, and his family, winning the Beverley Town Trail Family Quiz, earlier this year.

Harvey’s head teacher, Mrs Susan Eves, made special arrangements for this very different start to his school day.  His seven-year-old sister, ISOBEL, will be equally surprised at the school’s Friday assembly.  The photograph is also to be presented to her, to deliver to her parents, DONNA and CHRIS LEE, of Beverley.

Liz Jack, a volunteer with Beverley’s CSV/V Inspired organisation for 16 – 25yr olds, to gain worthwhile and exciting volunteer opportunities, created the quiz for the launch of the Beverley Medieval Guilds & Crafts Town Trail, in July.

Harvey, Isobel, and their parents walked the whole Trail, from North Bar to Beckside, finding the answers to the questions, and thoroughly enjoying the occasion, as well as learning about Beverley’s Medieval past and its people.

Copies of the Trail Family Quiz, and of the Trail map will be given to all the pupils and members of the school staff on Friday.  The map is available from Beverley’s Tourist Information Centre, and can be downloaded from here.
