Shaw Returns as Beaver’s Shuffle the Pack

Beverley RUFC travel to the North East on Saturday to face Darlington Mowden Park in their National League 3(North) fixture, kick off 3 p.m.

They will be looking to pick up a win to overcome the disappointment of last week’s narrow defeat by Stockport. Both the Beavers and Stockport played some cracking rugby in a highly entertaining game and it has to be said that, had Beverley started with the side appearing in the second half, the likelihood is that they would have won. Not putting the strongest available XV onto the field until you are 16 points behind seems a bewildering policy!

For this weeks trip Beverley make several changes. Hooker Martin Shaw returns and back row starts as does Junior Tupai. is carrying an injury which needs rest and he will be on the bench. The versatile (having his best season yet for the Beavers) moves up from full back to fly half and moves from centre to full back. All of these changes see the players involved reverting to positions in which they are very accustomed and the team generally has a strong look.
