Beverley Vs Patrington

4th XI beat Patrington III by 10 wickets, Patrington 121 all out 4th XI 124 for 0

The 4ths secured the Division 2 title with a convincing win at the Norwood Recreation Ground. Sam Horton took an early wicket but too much loose bowling allowed Patrington to reach 94 for 1 at drinks. Slow bowlers Bo Welburn and then ripped through the visitors batting. 15 years old Novis took 7 for 22, the best return by any bowler in Division 2 in 2009. The consistent Welburn backed him up with 2 for 24 as the already relegated Patrington fell away to 121 all out.

Town’s young opening pair made light work of the target with (71 no) and James Broekhuizen (46 no) remaining undefeated. Fish hit the ball hard and punished anything loose while Broekhuizen recovered the form that has eluded him in recent weeks as they cruised home in twenty overs.
