Beverley Town Bowling Club said the 2013 Whistle Stop Bowls Contest was the best one yet. The weekend saw 32 teams travel from as far away as Grimsby to take part in the competition held at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Beverley Town Bowling Club hosted their 26th Whistle Stop bowling event at the Norwood Recreation Ground on Sunday. Competitors from around Yorkshire took part in quick-fire version of the traditional game of lawn bowls. The event was very well attended by players from around the region and was a colourful spectacle, made all that much better by some brilliant British summer weather.

FOLLOWING early incarnations on the Westwood, and Mill Lane, Beverley Town Cricket Club moved to Norwood after cricket captain Mr J A Dunkerley bought five acres land.
