Bishop Burton College has been selected as the venue for a highly prestigious event.

The event will feature some of the finest young talents in the country and will take place next year.

British Eventing has chosen the college, near Beverley, to stage its ‘Festival of Youth’ for five years, starting in July 2020.

Bishop Burton was chosen to host the competition, which will feature junior and young riders, following a robust selection process.

The college says that their selection is a further feather in the cap. It comes after the college staged the FEI European Championships for Ponies in 2018. This was an event that included the best young riders from Europe.

Kim Knightley, Equine Director at Bishop Burton College, said:

“This is really excellent news for the college. It further cements our position as one of the best equine centres in the country.”

“This was a competitive process. The fact we have been selected is a testament to the quality of our staff and our facilities.”

“I’m particularly pleased that we will be staging the U18 Championships. Those who will be taking part are the future of the sport in this country.”

The three-day championships will take place from 31 July to 2 August 2020.
