Held in December the event was a chance for local groups to learn more. While there they found out about the grants available and projects funded by the company.

Tesco has been funding community projects in the town through their Bags of Help Incentive. The Incentive raises money through the ‘carrier bag tax’ with their customers voting for projects they want to see win.

Community Champion said;

“This was our second Community Open Evening. It  was a great success with many local community groups, , charities and service providers attending.”

“While here they found out more about our community programmes. The guests also took the opportunity to network with other local groups.”

“Those that were unable to attend but would like to find out more about any of these programmes, contact the store.”

A total of £132,000 has already been distributed to local groups, charities and sports clubs. Tesco says that almost 40 projects in Beverley alone have received funding for their projects.
