CCG Celebrates Their ‘Good’ Rating From

(CCG) is celebrating the publication of ’s annual assessment that demonstrates the CCG has improved its overall rating from ‘Requires improvement’ in 2016/17 to ‘Good’ for 2017/18.

The improved rating reflects a positive year for the CCG across a range of areas including improved performance on a range of clinical indicators making a real difference to patients’ lives, effectively managing changes to services, robust delivery of their financial and efficiency plans, and ongoing positive stakeholder engagement.

Jane Hawkard, East Riding of Yorkshire CCG chair said;

“We are absolutely delighted to have achieved the overall rating of ‘Good’. The rating confirms the CCGs ongoing commitment to deliver improved health outcomes for our local . To go from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ in 12 months demonstrates the excellent effort, commitment and hard work of our staff and partners across the health and care system.

“We have been working really hard to improve patient care, particularly in providing easier access to talking therapy services; ensuring receive an earlier dementia diagnosis; improving diabetes educational support; reducing delayed discharge from hospitals, introducing social prescribers into GP practices and reducing the amount of money we spend on prescribing over the counter medicines.”

“The CCG doesn’t work in isolation and we want to thank our GP members, Health Care Providers and colleagues in Social Care who have all contributed towards us achieving this improved rating.”

’s improvement and assessment framework measures individual CCG’s performance against a number of key objectives and priorities that support The Five Year Forward View, which sets out how the NHS needs to change to ensure services are affordable and sustainable.

As well, the CCG achieved their financial plan for 2017/18, reducing a planned deficit from £2.8million to £0.4million, against a challenging financial environment.

also acknowledged the CCG’s partnership working with East Riding Council as they continue to improve on the numbers of patients receiving timely social care assessments, allowing them to leave hospital sooner, receive care in the community or at home and retain more independence.

Other notable achievements throughout 2017/18 include the ‘outstanding’ rating received for the work to improve diabetes support and the innovative partnership with Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals and Hull CCG helping to improve outcomes for patients in hospital.

“Our focus over the next year is to build on the excellent work achieved and continue to provide good quality, evidence based services within our funding. We will also be working hard to further improve clinical outcomes and experience across the clinical domains.”
