Beverley will play host this week to the East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club as they hold their ever popular Midsummer Gathering in the town.
Taking place this coming Wednesday, 20 June from 6PM to 9PM Saturday Market and the Town Centre of Beverley will be taken over by some of the most iconic cars and motor vehicles from years gone by.
The Classic Car show in Beverley is one of the town’s most popular events as people take a trip down memory lane and reliving theirs or simply enjoying the wonderful examples of cars on display.
Previous events have seen some of the most prestigious as well as some of the most historic motor vehicles in our region all displayed at the event.
One such car was a 1969 Corvette Stingray V8 5.7 owned by a Neal Walker from Beverley.. He purchased the car nearly 30 years after driving a Corvette which has a 5.7 litre, 350 horsepower engine.
Many of the cars that are being put on display have been lovingly restored by their owners who along with their vehicle show of pictures and documentation explaining how they restored the very car you are looking at.
As the event has grown visitors to the show can expect to see around 300 vehicles on display ranging from your basic Mini through to high end performance cars. Some of the owners share logs showing how they have restored their cars to pristine condition.
A number of local shop keepers and cafe owners say they will stay open late on the day as they also looked forward to welcoming people into the town for what is a truly family friendly event.
