Beverley RUFC U13s got off to the perfect start as they beat Moortown RUFC 25 -10 at Beaver Park to progress into the second round of the Yorkshire Cup.
Sammy England opened the scoring for the Beavers after great work by the team opened up the Moortown defence.
Despite dominating play the Beavers were unable to convert their possession into points and it was Moortown who were to score next as they levelled the contest.
Parity was restored before the half time break when Jacob Parkinson went over with a trade mark break to give the beavers a slender 10-5 lead at midway point.
Henry Fenn collected a brace of tries with clinical finishing on the left wing before Louis Gorman combined with Bayes to score the try of the day.
Victory is the ideal start for the U13s putting them through to the next round of the Yorkshire Cup, what’s more the result will give the team a great confidence going into the new season.
