Seven Authors Head To Beverley For ‘Speed Dating’ Event

Seven authors from across with literary spectrum will be in Beverley next month as they look to deliver inspirational talks about their work.

Val Pate, Cassandra Parking, Martin Gore, John Ashbrook along with Colin and Fluer Speakman will be at on 10 June.

The event will give keen readers and aspiring authors are an opportunity to go ‘Author Speed Dating’ at Beverley Library with organisers saying you don’t even have to be single!

Tracey Booth, librarian at Beverley Library, said:

“If you’ve read everything by your favourite authors and are looking for something new to try, why not let a collection of handpicked authors pitch for your affections and rekindle your love of reading?”

“This ‘Author Speed Dating’ event is perfect for anyone who enjoys readying or finding out about new authors, and especially anyone aspiring to become an author.”

Each author will have 10 minutes to speak to the audience about their writing, their inspirations, how they got their work published, what they are working on now, and maybe even give a reading.

Once every writer has given their talk, the audience will be free to move around the room chatting to the authors and getting tips and ideas for themselves, or to simply purchase books.

Booking is essential as places are limited for the event that is the first of its kind to be held in .
