A goal in each ensured it was who got all three points as they beat East Yorkshire Carnegie 2-0 at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Craig Muirhead opened the scoring for Town from the penalty spot mid way through the first half before scoring a cracking goal to second half to complete his brace.

A delighted Town boss Rich Jagger speaking after the match said;

“I am really pleased with both the performance and the result.  We had a clear game plan and worked hard at it in training on Thursday, and the lads executed it perfectly during the game.”

“It took us ten minutes to get used to the way we wanted to play, and to be fair to EYC they could have been three up in that spell.”

“After that though we got things sorted and every single one of the lads executed our plan and did what was asked of them.  Second half we created more chances and in the end could have won it by a bigger margin.”

“Defensively I thought we were excellent, we’ve got the third best defensive record in the league with only the top two better than us, and and at the back were excellent.”

“ I thought Joe Norton worked his socks off and our two forwards never stopped working .  Overall it’s hard to single anyone out because I thought everyone did well.”

“We go into next weeks cup quarter final against Crown full of confidence.”

Despite the win Town remain in eighth spot in the Humber Premier League though are now with touching distance of the clubs around them but remain 19 points behind current leaders Sculcoates Armatures.

Final Score: Beverley Town Football Club 2 East Yorkshire Carnegie 0
