Beverley Minster’s Christmas Tree Festival is a Huge Success

Beverley Minster’s Tree Festival saw well over 4500 people pass through the doors of the iconic landmark during the three-day event.

With over 80 Christmas trees on display, there was plenty of competition to be named the best tree at the event.

In the category for the schools it was Cherry Burton school who won the accolade for the best tree with Pre-School coming second and finishing third.

The Royal British Legion won the organisation’s category with Abbie’s Fund being placed second and the East Yorkshire Women’s Institute claiming third spot.

In total, there were over 4,700 came to Beverley Minster for the festival with organisers thanking everyone who was involved.

For HU17.net, it was the first time that we had a tree entered. However, had it not been for the help of the pupils from St Nicholas Primary School our tree would not be decorated in time.

Six pupils showed amazing kindness and rolled up their sleeves getting stuck in to help HU17.net get the decorations completed in time ahead of the launch.

St Nicholas School’s own tree, called All of our Hearts and Hands Make us a Lovely School which came second, was decorated with hearts and hands all of which were crafted by the pupils from school.

Other highlights at the Beverley Minster Christmas Tree Festival included the Beverley Photographic Clubs, whose effort was decorated with a photography theme using some very interesting objects and a Speedlite for a star.

As an event, it is an important fundraiser for the Minster and judging by the footfall it is a very popular local event encompassing the spirit of Christmas.
