Performance Was Not As Good As I Expected - Says Jonathan Fisher

says he is ‘disappointed’ with the way 1st XI performed against Stamford Bridge in the cup at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Beverley who are enjoying a good run in the league have been dumped out of both cups and Sunday saw his side again fail with the bat managing just 105 runs.

In reply the visitors wasted little time in reaching the target scoring 106/5 to knock Beverley out of the League Cup.

Commenting on the game Fisher said;

“We made four changes going into the game, I wanted to have a look at my other options and see how other players performed at a higher level.”

“Unfortunately the performance was not as good as I expected. Once again we did not get enough runs and gave too much away when we had the ball in hand.”

Beverley opened the batting, only Fish and made any impact on the score card. The skipper led the way with 51 with Mudd scoring 20.

Fisher added;

“I have every confidence in the line up and that the runs will come soon.”

“Our bowling was poor, we gave away 42 extras, our middle order are struggling to score that many so we need tighten up on that.”

“Giving away so many extras gives the opposition a huge advantage.”

“I am very pleased with our league form, we sit just two points off the top and we are only playing at 60 / 70% of our ability.”

“If we can start to perform to 90 / 100% then we will turn games like this one into wins.”
