Beverley Town Reach Semi Finals Of Senior Cup

booked their place in the semi final of the East Riding Senior Cup with a comprehensive 7 – 1 win over St Andrews.

Town fell behind though quickly turned the match on its head thanks to two quick goals from skipper Michael O’Connell who went on to grab a third and complete his hat-trick.

Other scorers on the day were who got a brace while  Matthew Start grabbed a goal each.

Gaffer Dave Ricardo was delighted with the win he said;

“This was a good result for us, we not only won but we came through the match without picking up any more injuries or cards.”

Beverley Town’s day was made even better with the news that the current leaders Reckitts AFC were beaten by Goole.

Ricardo added;

“I always thought it was going to be a tough game for Reckitts today but was pleasantly surprised by the result especially when I heard Goole were missing four key players.”

Town return to league action next week when they host Goole at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
