Holly Bentham Wins East Midlands Open

A trip to Nottingham paid dividends for Holly Bentham as the Beverley judo player added the East Midlands Open title to her 2013 achievements.

Detouring en route back from a marathon 6 hour England Squad training session at the British Judo Centre of Excellence in Walsall.

Bentham rattled off three successive victories including decisive “ippon” contest winning throws against her last two opponents to propel her to the gold medal position.

Bentham who is a member of the East Yorkshire Judo Academy will now seek to hone her skills still further at the Beverley Leisure Centre team training, before stepping onto the mat to compete once more I a fortnights time.
