Hessle Sent Packing By Beverley At Norwood

Town Cricket Club 3rd XI produced a good all-round performance against Hessle 1st XI at the Norwood Recreation Ground to win comfortably by 7 wickets.

Hessle were rolled over with 10 overs of their allocation unused as Town’s attack stuck to their task well.

After an early success for Matty Saint it was 15 year old Brad Graham who claimed 4 wickets as he maintained his position as the division’s leading wicket-taker.

James Emery put in good spells and part-time 3rd XI player and bowler claimed a wicket first ball but after taking a second unfortunately had to retire injured.

Hessle’s moderate 143 was well within Town’s sights and the new opening partnership of skipper and Tim Fordon saw a good start. Burton, continuing last week’s good form, made an excellent 49 while Fordon, Chris Charles, Rob Fish and all contributed.

Hessle could have no complaints on the day as Town won with plenty of overs to spare.
