Beverley Invited To Grab A Front Row Seat At Hull 2017!

Hundreds of residents are expected to pop in to Hull 2017’s Community Roadshow next week as it visits Market Place on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May.

Residents are urged to attend the Community Roadshow to meet the Hull 2017 team face to face and find out how to get involved in Hull’s City of Culture year.  Applications are now being welcomed for the thousands of volunteering positions that give members of the public the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play their part in the next major UK event – and the Hull 2017 Community Roadshow provides the chance to discover more.

Attendees can discover how to apply for grants of £300-£10,000 for projects they would like to run in 2017 through the Creative Communities Programme – and can also add their thoughts on and hopes for Hull’s by adding to the real-life ‘Aspiration Tree’!

Part-way through 22 fun and informal community roadshow and drop-in events across the region, members of the Hull 2017 team have so far welcomed thousands of visitors, helped sign up hundreds of new volunteers, talked to residents, listened to their ideas and helped them complete their tree tags for the Aspiration Tree.

Phil Batty, Director of , Community, CEO and Director of Hull 2017, said: “As 2017 gets closer and excitement builds, our roadshow events are really good opportunities for to find out more about how they can get involved. It has been fantastic to see thousands of people at these events so far and we’re looking forward to meeting thousands more in the coming weeks.

Whether you’re interested in a backstage pass to this transformational cultural celebration through volunteering, want to apply for funding of £300-£10,000 to help you stage your own event through our Creative Communities Programme, or simply want to show your support, we want everyone to be a part of this.”

The roadshow is open from 11am to 7pm on 11 and 12 May and will be stationed at Market Place Beverley, HU17 8BB. The roadshow runs on a pop in basis with no need to book an appointment.
