Littlefield Scores Four As Town Put Six Past Cave

Beverley Town Football Club got 2016 off to the perfect start as they beat South Cave 6-2 at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Star of the show was the ‘Richard Sutton Design Man of the Match’ Matty Littlefield who led from the front as Beverley dished out six of the best to South Cave.

Town opened the scoring in the first half with a goal from Littlefield but were pegged back when Cave’s Alex Banister found the back of the net.

Parity was restored before the break with Jamie Cording scored his third goal of the season giving the home side the lead for the second time in the match.

A fast start by the Cave in the second period saw the visitors again get back on level terms through Kieran McBride sparking a wild celebration.

The goal sparked Beverley into life, with the gaffer Ross Cording turning to the bench bringing on Jordan Organ.

Within minutes of being on the pitch Organ went on a trade mark run and was taken down giving town a free kick on the edge of the box.

From the set play, it was the skipper who fired his side ahead for the third time in the match as he saw his effort loop over Cave’s keeper.

As Cave chased the game, a poor tackle by Luke Dueren saw the player sent off as he picked up his second yellow card of the game.

With just ten men town took total control of the game as Littlefield fired into action bagging three more goals in the final five minutes of the game.

Town are placed in eighth spot in the Humber Premier League. Next weekend, Beverley will hit the road as they take on Driffield Evening Institute who are behind Town in the table.
