Cottingham Tigers Beat Beverley Braves In Close Contest

The young fell short against a very enthusiastic side despite leading 10-0 early in the proceedings thanks to tries from Joe McCabe, another cracker from his own half, and a Tom Nuttall effort after a Josh Hamlyn offload from 20 yards out.

However some sloppy defending allowed Cottingham into the game and although some brave efforts from Alex Nuttall, Shamus Blades, who climbed off his sickbed to play and Man of the Match Cain Robb very nearly got Beverley back into the game, it just was not to be and on this occasion the Tigers were worthy winners.

Tom Nuttall finished the scoring on the hooter, calmly collecting a Charlie Gay kick to power over to the right of the posts.

As some disappointed players trudged off the field, Coach Craig Collins offered kind words of consolation, he commented “Fear not boys, the future is always beginning.”

Final Score: Cottingham Tigers 20 Beverley Braves 16
