Job Not Quite Done Says Ricardo Ahead Clash With Crown

will be aiming to win the Humber Premier League title this weekend by securing the single point needed against Crown FC, a side they beat with ease in September at Norwood.

Dave Ricardo is proving to be the HPL’s very own ‘Special One’ as he closes in on his second consecutive league title since taking over at Town.

Speaking ahead of the game, a relaxed Ricardo told HU17.net;

“The job is not quite complete. We are almost over the finish line, but we also know we can cross that line on Saturday by getting the result we need, then we start celebrating.”

Technically, Town do not need to win, if Reckitts AFC fails to get anything other than a big win on Saturday, then Town will be declared champions, Ricardo added;

“We have a point to prove on Saturday, Crown FC is a good side, and they were the only team to beat us last season, and we owe them for that.”

“All of us are aware of the dangers the trip to Crown poses. We need to be focused and start well from the off, if we don’t Crown will most certainly punish us.”

“Crown are a very physical side and have enjoyed a good run in the league. Just because we can win the league against them does not alter the fact they remain a real threat.”

Ricardo added;

“There will be some pressure on us but the lads know what they need to do, we will prepare for the game as normal, and if we do that, then we should have no difficulties in the game.”

“Reckitts AFC has a slim chance, but I feel will turn them over on Saturday, but we still need to do our job against Crown.”

Ricardo has almost a full squad to choose from with only Danny Norton missing. Luke Thompson, Tyler Collinson and are all back and in contention.

Ricardo added;

“Let’s be fair; it is almost impossible for us not to win the league now, let’s put the Champagne on ice until after the game on Saturday, then all being well we can celebrate winning the Humber Premier League.”
