Beverley Food Festival : Judging Takes Place For Food Awards

Judges were at the to sample the entries into this year’s Beverley Food Festival’s Awards.

In total there were 93 entries with foods ranging from sausages, drinks, pies through to deserts.

David Nowell Head Chef at the Tickton Grange hotel said;

“The Tickton Grange Hotel is very pleased to support the Beverley Food Festival and the excellent local food producers.”

“Overall the entries into this year’s competition are up with twice as many entries into the desert category as last year.”

The panel which was made up of food writer Roy Woodcock, presenter Jonathan Parker, Town Clerk , Curriculum Leader for Catering at Hull College Bernard McCoy, and chairman of the Hull and East Riding Hospitality Association Paul Vinsen, all of whom had the task of picking out the winners.

Marie Louise Robinson Local Food Co-ordinator told .net;

“We are delighted to showcase the wealth of local food and drink on offer in our region.”

Overall the biggest increase was in the desert section with a total of 18 delightful sweet treats being entered.

On September 30th those who entered will find out if they have won at an awards night being held at the Tickton Grange Hotel.

The Beverley Food Festival which pulls in tens of thousands of people into the town will be takes place on the 6th October.
