Beverley Grammar School retained the Beverley Cup by beating Longcroft School in each of the four games played at Beaver Park.
The annual rugby contest which is hosted by Beverley RUFC gave a chance for the two Beverley Schools to go head to head and win a bit of local pride on the field of play.
Phil Rann from Beverley RUFC said;
“The event helps create a good community spirit and also gives the schools a chance to compete but most of all encourages the kids to get out and play rugby.”
Playing kit however was an issue but the Rugby club stepped in supplying the equipment needed to ensure the games could go ahead.
Beverley Rugby Club with the support of Vision Express has provided playing kit for one of the age groups, and the club are keen to see others follow.
Phil Rann added;
“As a club we would be more than happy to put together the schools and any potential sponsors to provide kits for the schools next season.”
