Halloran Leads East Yorkshire Girls To Victory

Skipper Halloran leads the way after McCoid ripped the heart of the the North’s middle order to secure the first win for East this season.

Amy Halloran won the toss and elected to field first on a soft and green wicket. The North openers looked in control but Thompson fell LBW to Megan Siddown when the ball kept low in the second over.

Spenser Brown was then run out after a good start and Atherton was bowled by Siddown for 9.

A bowling change saw youngerster Alish Ward strike in her first over bowling Kilby for 3. was the change at the other end and she removed 4 North Yorkshire batswomen only conceeding 3 runs in her two overs.

A further bowling change gave Claire Nicolson, Alice Baily and Harriette Ewens an opportunity but the stubourn resistance fron the North’s Skipper Megan Kenyon and Katie Griffith push the score up to 49. Halloran brought herslf back on and grabbed the wicket of Kenyon and got number 11, Terry in the same over.restricting North Yorkshire to 50 all out

In reply the East lost Megan Davies run out in the second over but a stand of 24 between Holloran (28no) and Megan Siddown (6) put the East in control. Two quick wickets however for the North put more pressure on the East but Jessica Pigeon (9no) came to the crease in defiant mood cracking two straight on drives for four to secure the win for the East by 6 wickets.
