Rovers Lay Down Marker To Crush Black And Whites At KC

Hull Kingston Rovers have the early-season bragging rights after hammering in their ‘friendly’ pre-season derby at the KC Stadium today.

More than 13,000 fans turned up to watch Rovers romp to a 36-18 victory in blustery conditions.

Hull gave debuts to all eight close-season signings, but it was Rovers’ new boys who came out on top.

Shannon McDonnell helped himself to a brace while also scored.

Further Rovers’ tries came from Rhys Lovegrove (2), Kris Welham and Craig Hall. Michael Dobson added four goals.

Hull’s points came courtesy of the new men Andy Lynch, Tony Martin and youngster Chris Green. Danny Tickle and converted the tries.
