Molescroft Rangers played Kingburn from the Hull amateur League Premier division and despite missing four 1st team players strolled to a comfortable victory in their first friendly of pre season winning 4 – 1.
Almost as soon as the game started the heavens opened and moley adapted to the conditions the better of the two teams racing to a three goal lead inside twenty minutes courtesy of goals from the experimental strike force of spruce and rich Dixon who simply had too much power for the kingburn defence to Handle.
Moley continued to press but had to wait till the second half to add to their tally with Dixon getting his second with a rare right footed goal. Kingburn scored a consolation late on, reward for their improved second Half performance but it’s Moley who go away the happier after a solid performance. special thanks go to ex player Neil Richards who refereed the game expertly from the comfort of his mobility scooter.
Molescroft Rangers also had their promotion to division 1 confirmed and should now come up against local teams Hodgson FC Reserves, the Barrel, Mill Lane United and Beverley Town juniors in a Beverley dominated division.
