Katrina Ienco Comes Third in Miss Universe Heat

Last Friday Night the Hull Regional Heat for Miss Universe GB was held at the Country Park Inn, Hessle Foreshore. The event was organized by EB Events.

Beverley resident Katrina Ienco was successful coming third in a closely fought contest.

22 ladies battled it out to be crowned Miss Universe Hull and to be in with a chance of representing the city at Miss Universe GB in Birmingham to be held May 2011.

The 22 finalist competed in three rounds. The Swimwear round, Little Black dress round with a challenge to create a mask and the traditional evening wear round.

After the three rounds the judges, Tara Hoyos-Martines Miss Universe GB, Rosie Maddison Viking Fm and Pete Haslam WHCR and the difficult task of finding the winner! After the scores were taken Contestant number 21 Stefanie Rycraft Jones 23 from Epworth was crowned Miss Universe Hull 2010/11. The competition was very close with 2nd place going to Cally Beech 19, Kirkella and 3rd place was taken by Katrina Ienco 21 from Beverley.

All Finalists in the run up to the competition have been raising money for the joshua foundation, a charity for children with terminal cancer. An award for the finalist who raised the most money went to Miss Michaela Pirie. She was presented a sash Miss Charity Queen, Tiara, Certificate, and a bottle of champagne from Pat Corneleaous from the Joshua Foundation. The total amount raised for the charity was £3000.

The night was filled with entertainment from Leroy Vickers, Hull’s local Tenor star, and the amazing Phusion Dancers!

Prizes for the winner included

A portfolio shoot from denton photography worth £1000, Free Hairdressing for a year from cook hair / touch up salon, free dress hire for the final of Miss Universe GB from classique Boutique, spray tan from Tanfastic of Anlaby Road.
