Beverley Athletic Club Juniors dominated the fun run which supported the 10 mile road race in Thirsk last Sunday. Seventeen of them took part in the race at Thirsk racecourse and they won most of the main prizes.
First to finish and minutes ahead of the second runner was Beverley’s Peter McGill. Having finished in second place last year, Peter was thrilled to win the race this year. He also won the prize for first boy under 15.
The first girl to finish was Beverley’s Nicole Dawson who also won the prize for the first girl under 15.
The 2 mile off-road course suited the Beverley Juniors and they scooped first place prizes in a number of other age categories:
Jasmine Dalton first girl under 17
Kelvin Arnott first boy under 17
Ethan Dalton first boy under 13
Oliver Cockerill first boy under 10
Morgan Dennis first girl under 10
Teenage brothers Jordan and Corey Arnott moved up from the junior race to run with the seniors in the 10 mile event. Both performed very well against strong competition finishing in 1.12.47 and 1.17.17 respectively.
Supported by their proud parents and coaches Neil and Rona Sergeant all the Juniors were a credit to their club.
