The Teenage Cancer Trust Fundraiser

A fundraising event for the will take place at 7pm on Saturday 13 March at .

Organised by Molescroft mum Sylvia Hood, the event aims to raise funds in memory of her son David who sadly died of bone cancer at the age of 18 in June 2007.

David loved sport and and his mum has arranged a programme of fitness and acoustic sessions on Saturday to raise money for the charity that supported him during his illness.

Starting at 7pm there will be exercise to and body combat .  The sessions will be led by leisure centre fitness instructors and are suitable for all ages and abilities.

For those wanting a less energetic evening there will be massage and reflexology provided by Cherry Lethem.

Peter Caswell and friends will provide live in the bar from 8.30pm.

Generous local businesses have provided a lot of support for the event by supplying prizes for a raffle.  Tickets will be available on Saturday.

Money raised from the evening will be shared between the proposed unit at Castle Hill Hospital and the charity’s unit at St James’s Hospital in Leeds where David was treated.

Sylvia is hoping that local people will join her family, friends and neighbours at the on Saturday to raise as much money as possible for the .

Sylvia is also organising a running event at the Leisure Centre on Wednesday 17 March which would have been David’s 21st birthday.  In the run up to Sport Relief those wanting to help raise funds for TCT can just turn up next Wednesday to donate money and run a mile round the field.  Raffle tickets will also be available.  The event starts at 6 pm.
