A new mini-display at the Treasure House in Beverley opened this week.
The topic of this latest display is the East Riding Yeomanry, a territorial regiment that served in the Palestine campaign and on the western front during the First World War.
Drawing on photographs, uniforms and other objects in the museum service’s collections, the display can be found in the café area on the first floor of the Beverley Treasure House.
Dr. David Marchant, the council’s museums registrar, said:
“The display is by way of a taster for a much larger project being planned in 2014 for the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. We are hoping to be able to locate further artefacts which will help fulfil this project.”

A lecture to accompany the current display will be presented by Dr. Marchant, on Friday 18th March, 12.00-1.00pm.
